National taekwondo player Hatice Kübra İlgün brought Turkey the second medal in the games.

In the taekwondo competitions held in Makuhari Messe A Hall, Hatice Kübra eliminated Costa Rican Nishi Lee Lindo Alvarez in the last 16 round and advanced to the quarter finals. Although the national taekwondo player lost her final chance by losing to Anastasija Zolotic of the USA at this stage, she gained the right to participate in repechage after Zolotic reached the final.

Defeating Moroccan Nada Laaraj in the repechage, the 29-year-old national athlete defeated Iranian Kimia Zenoorin Alizadeh from the Refugee Olympic Athletes Team in the bronze medal competition and won the medal.

A National Volleyball Team, which was in Group B in the Games, defeated the last Olympic champion China 3-0 in its first match in Group B.
